The Five Critical Metrics
In the last issue, we talked about problems being icebergs that needed to be dealt with or avoided. But how do you know which problems are critical and which ones can be ignored?
In this issue, we’ll discuss the five critical metrics in your business.
Figure 27.1 The Five Critical Metrics.

You’ll note that only one of these critical metrics is on your financial statements, and that metric is probably at least a couple of weeks old. That’s not good enough to manage and grow a business in today’s dynamic, competitive, global environment.
The first three metrics: sales pipeline, production, and cash are all part of my Flash report that you should be generating at least weekly, and perhaps daily.
The last two metrics are more difficult to measure and take persistence and courage to pursue. These will make a significant difference in your business life. And give you a sustainable competitive differentiated advantage when you master them.
